The New Market
by Deborah Elvrom
November 21,
2003 was opening day of The New Market, located on the Culver Highway in
the little town of Metolius, Oregon.
Martin Martes
Sanchez and wife Arisbeth Bautista Montes had been looking for just such
a business when this became available. This husband and wife team is
working diligently to build up their store.
Future plans include
fully stocked shelves with a wide selection of produce, traditional
Mexican foods as well as regular grocery store items. Sanchez also hopes
to open a Mexican restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner at
reasonable prices.
Martin and Arisbeth live
in Culver with their two young children. Medford was home for Sanchez
before moving to Culver 12 years ago. He has been a Madras Brightwood
employee for the past eight years.
